TORONTO CENTRAL SOCCER LEAGUE: Genesis started with a goal blast: 8-1 to Ballers; Women's Futsal Series - The Road to the Women's Futsal World Cup in Colombia 2013
Toronto, May 24, 2012.-
Genesis FC started in great form the 2012 Toronto Central Women’s Soccer League in the final game of the May 24’s night at Earlscourt Park soccer field: defeated 8-1 to Ballers, a tough rival even with that large difference in the score. The difference was made by two young players, Laura (8) and Shay (25) who played with the talent of professional footballers and between them scored 5 goals.
Shay, the fast forward, open the score early in the game against Ballers, then Laura put the 2-0, Hispanic player Rocio shot from distance and surprised the goalkeeper with the 3-0, and Shay got the 4-1 to close the first half. In the second period, Ballers pressured hard, but still Sarah, Laura (2) and Holy marked the final 8-1. Shay could score at least three more goals, but the defense and GK stopped her shoots to net.
In the second match, Thunder, of Michelle Liu and Italian Michelle D, won also its game 2-0 against Bulldogs, with goals by Naomi and Julie. Majestic, who opened the season with the fist game, defeated 2-0 to Ravens in an interesting match, where fast # 22 scored the two goals with an excellent passing and assistance performance by # 10 Farah.
Every Thursday is a feast of women’s soccer at Earlscourt and Eglinton Flats. TCSL has put 12 teams in competition and all of them fight the ball until the last minute, with fair play and hard-work on the field.
WOMEN’S FUTSAL SERIES – THE ROAD TO THE WOMEN’S FUTSAL AMF WORLD CUP IN COLOMBIA 2013
Canadian Futsalon Federation, Toronto Futsalon Association and AMF – the World Futsal Association – are starting a very competitive Women’s Futsal Series, in preparation for two international competitions: the Confederation Cup in Venezuela (Concafutsal) in November 2012 and then AMF Women’s Futsal World Cup, to be held in Colombia, in April 2013.
Daniel Cerros, president of FUTSALCA, will organize the Women’s Futsal Series at Percy Johnson Futsal Hall, starting the second week of June 2012. The registration is affordable and is expected to attract great players who will be the foundation for TEAM CANADA going to Colombia to participate in the Women’s Futsal.
Already, Juan Carlos Cordero, Head Coach for Women’s TEAM CANADA, has been scouting all around GTA and Ontario, as well as the outdoor soccer leagues such as OWSL, TCSL and Downsview, to discover some of the best Canadian futsal female talent. Training and selection camps will be in Toronto and other provinces, and final team will be decided in conjunction with Jaime Meza, National technical Director of FUTSALCA and the regional scouts.
