OTTAWA, ON — Top coaches from the Canadian Soccer Association and Ontario Soccer Association will headline the sixth annual National Coaching Weekend and Conference, scheduled for March 2-3 at the Ben Franklin Superdome.
On-field presenters this year are : Ray Clark, CSA Director of Coaching and Player Development; Mark Marshall, OSA Manager of Coaching Development; and Stuart Neely Head of Player Management and Advancement with Vancouver Whitecaps FC. OSA Chief Technical Officer Alex Chiet will be on hand to provide an update on OSA’s ongoing implementation of the Long Term Player Development model.The 2012 conference is sponsored by the Eastern Ontario District Soccer Association, the Club Head Coaches & Technical Directors Forum of Eastern Ontario, and eight area soccer clubs — Nepean Hotspurs Soccer Club; Ottawa Internationals Soccer Club; FC Capital United; Gloucester Hornets Soccer Club; West Ottawa Soccer Club; Ottawa South United Club; Ottawa Royals Soccer Club; Russell Soccer Club; and Carleton Place Soccer Club.
Coaches from across the region will have access, free of charge, to on-field technical sessions in the Ben Franklin Superdome on Friday evening (March 2) and Saturday afternoon (March 3). The presenters will also meet on Sunday (March 4) with key technical leaders from the Ottawa soccer community to discuss the role that Ottawa area Clubs can play in supporting our national programs and contributing to the sport’s long-term development.
There will be extensive opportunities for strong visuals (stills and action) during the on-field sessions, and interviews may be arranged with the presenters, subject to their availability.
