This is the unique way of celebrating Chanukah and New Year  in our Jewish household. Here you can see we do have a tree at home, but I want to make it clear we are Jewish household and it is not a Christmas Tree our tree has a Mogen Dovid ( the Star of David) at the top and Zayde Frost (( A-Yiddeshe Ded Moroz)  a Jewish equivalent to the local Santa which our wild imagination could come up with) below the tree. The Zade Frost drest as a hassidick rabbi and plays Hava Nagila when you push on his foot. It is our unique way of celebrating New 2012 Year.

The couple weeks before New Year, Winter came to Chicago, and we hope it will stay here at least for some time , so we could have real White New Year. The New Year should be cold , sunny and absolute must is a lots of snow, snow and ones more snow. We have several pictures of Aaroshka and the rest of Katzman family enjoying the arrival of the winter as well as arrival of New 2011 Year.
