April - International Birthday Month

By looking at calendar you will see that today is April . Nothing extraordinary, after March, April usually would follow.  And by looking at the any particular person you could say that he or she has 8.3% probability to be born at month of April  like any other month of the year. But first 2 week of April  are so abundant with a birthdays in my family , so you would start to assumed, that it was really nothing to do in a end of July or early August the year before some members of my family were born. So let stop assuming and list all of the members of the family by the day of April they were born.

15 days 6 people, for a family as mine it is really impressive, My family is not that big as an example on our wedding we  had less than a hundred people and most of them were not our relatives. Some of the month, and not even months you can say the whole seasons are birthday free in our family. Let's take summer for example, the whole July , June  and August are birthday free.

As an only non April born minority in  my immediate family ( November - Rocks!!!!),  Stella and Aaron both were born in April, I want to congratulate all the members of my family and other people, who were born in April ( and I know the good number of them) with the best day for everybody are the day of their birthday!

Petrov-Vodkin Jamaican Stile

I try to flex my muscles in a high art of photography. We went to Jamaica just after New Year holidays, and inspired by natures beauty, Jamaica’s scenery, and unbelievably good weather as well as a good equipment which was handy by my site I came up with a set of photographs named  «Купание красного коня» or Sunset Jamaican Stile.     

Pictures were made on January 11, 2012  in  Negril, Jamaica.

Мои потуги на высокое искусство в фотографии. Мы поехали на Ямайку сразу после новогодних праздников, и вдохновленные природной красотой, пейзажами Ямайки, невероятно хорошей  погодой, а также и вооружоные хорошим фотоапоратом мы сделали  несколко снимков  под названием «Купание красного коня» или Закат в  Ямайском Стиле.

Фотографии были сделаны 11 января 2012 года в Негрил, Ямайка.

This is the unique way of celebrating Chanukah and New Year  in our Jewish household. Here you can see we do have a tree at home, but I want to make it clear we are Jewish household and it is not a Christmas Tree our tree has a Mogen Dovid ( the Star of David) at the top and Zayde Frost (( A-Yiddeshe Ded Moroz)  a Jewish equivalent to the local Santa which our wild imagination could come up with) below the tree. The Zade Frost drest as a hassidick rabbi and plays Hava Nagila when you push on his foot. It is our unique way of celebrating New 2012 Year.

Happy New 2012 Year!!!! and don't forget about Chanukah. Happy Chanukah!!!!

Little bit about everything!!

Have you ever heard about Football club Maccabi. Of cause yes if it is well known Maccabi Haifa or Tel Aviv or Maccabi New York, for God's sake. But about Maccabi Moscow, I would imagion , not that many people heard. However club like that is exist since 2003, then Moscow Club Presnia got support of Local Jewish businessman Pavel Feldblum and Moscow Jewish Community in general. Club is playing in Russian championship of amateur football clubs (III division or Moscow division) not a strongest team in a league, however a visible Jewish presence in Moscow Sport Football scene.

Go Maccabi Go. Вперед Маккаби, Вперед, מאַקקאַבי פאָרויס

If Maccabi is soccer club in Moscow, than Aaron is grand piano virtuoso. Here is Aaron showing his interpretation of Mozart’s Piano concertos 21 and Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake at North Western Auditorium in Evanston Illinois.

Бедный Ёжик - Aaron second hit in two weeks.

The second Aaron performance was at Arlington Heights Illinois , with his second hit "Бедный Ёжик". "Бедный Ёжик" is a Russian song which became an instant hit, and the triumph of Aaron's singing career so far. The new upcoming star on a music horizon, happened to be in Chicago area. The new rock-and-roll star in its best. Aaron performs one of his first solo concerts in Bourbonnais, Illinois area on a eve of Fourth of July. So Happy Birthday America and enjoy the best of rock -and-Roll from Aaron "the Mantch" Katzman.

The Jewish Month of May or How Мир, Труд, Май become A Yiddeshe Momme, May

If you were growing up in Soviet Union the slogan – “Mir, Trud, May” (“Peace, Work, May”)  was something what was associated with a gateway month of the summer - the month of May. After moving to the new continent the meaning of the month slightly changed it is no longer associated with Peace ( it was more European association than American) , work is something which is associated with every month in this country – want to live with a comfort got to work my friend month after month after month and labor day in America is in September not May.   So only May  left in a slogan, kind of strange slogan for a month. Imagine people on the street chanting May, May, May, dose not make any sense unless you are in a mental facility.  So let think what will associate with May in this country. Let use soviet association for a month with a holidays which happened to be in this particular month. The first holiday comes to mind is a Mother’s Day. So it is time to chant Mom, May – sounds good, so we went to Green Basil place with my Dad and Stella’s parents to celebrate the occasion ( my Mom happened to be in Europe with my sister during this time, so it’s become my young sis responsibility to chant Mom, May, Mom, May  in person to our mother, I would do it with a help of modern technology  -  so my dear Mom

-        Mom, May,  Mom , May and ones more Mom , May.

I would think it would be it, if by law passed in Congress this year Month May would not become an National American Jewish heritage month.  So it become not only Mom, May it is a Jewish mom, May. I like this slogan it is even make more sense for me personally. But wait, it would be much better if we will chant –

-         A Yiddeshe Momme , May,  A Yiddeshe Momme , May and ones more A Yiddeshe Momme , May.

And as a present to our moms with a true mining of the current month the song of  AYiddeshe momme in a variety of languages.

Aaron the Farmer.

Last week Aaron went to the Lamb's Farm were he work at the fields on a tractor as well as taking care of farms animals. Before going there he met his friend Vicki and both of the took a ride on the farm train to farm, to land their helping hands to local farmers. Check the picks of this latest outing.

Aarosha in Mexico. (Part 2)

Aaron went to Mexico in February of 2011 and Enjoyed nice waters of Atlantic Ocean , and warm weather of Rivera Maya. Viva Mexico!!!

Первый пост в новом году. - Первый Снеговик в течение многих лет.

First post of the new year. - First Snowman in many years.

Aaron celebrated winter season with a nice walk in our park, which is located in a highest point of our county ( County of Cook (second biggest county in whole USofA)) Aaron took several down hill trips on his sleds and after that took a part in building his first snowman in his life. His parents were helping him, it was their first snowman in America, and first one for last thirty some years, or so.  Looks like it was a big achievement not only for Aaron but for his older folks too. Here are some pictures of snowman and its creators.  

Аарон отметил зимний сезон с приятной прогулки в нашем парке, который находится на самой высшей точке нашего графства (графства Кук (второй по величине графство в США)) Аарон спустился с горки вниз на своих санках и после этого принял участие в строительстве своего первого снеговика в своей жизни. Его родители были в помощь ему, это был их первый снеговик в Америке, и первым за последние тридцать слишним лет, или около того. Похоже, это было большое достижение не только для Аарона, но и для его предков тоже. Вот некоторые фотографий  снеговика и его создателей.
